The energy issues directly affect our everyday life. We can change the world by considering energy matters as our own problem, thinking on our own, and making our own judgement.
世界は今、歴史的に見ても初めてといえるほどの世界的なエネルギー危機に直面しています。ロシアによるウクライナへの侵攻は世界的なエネルギー不安定を生み出し、日本のエネルギー安全保障をも脅かしています。加えて、脱炭素化への強い要請により、資源貧国の日本における電力供給バランスは大きく崩れつつあります。私たちの身の回りでも、燃料資源価格の高騰が家庭の電気代、産業の電力価格の高騰を招き、不安定な社会を誘発しつつあります。
The world is facing the very first global energy crisis in the history. The Russian invasion to Ukraine caused the global energy insecurity, which also threatens Japan’s energy security. In addition, due to the strong demand towards decarbonization, the balance of power supply and demand is about to collapse in Japan. When we look at our everyday life, electricity price at residential basis and factory or business basis are rising, causing instability in society.
エネルギーの問題はそれぞれの国によって様々です。日本政府も日本にとっての最適解が何かを常に考え、エネルギー安全保障の向上と脱炭素の実現に向けた努力を行っていますが、比較的長期間を要するエネルギーや電力インフラの構築, 規制環境の整備は、目まぐるしい環境の変化に追いつくのが難しい状況です。
Each country has its own challenges in dealing with its energy matters. The Japanese government have been and is considering the optimum solution and making the best effort to improve our energy security and to realize decarbonized society. However, designing and constructing/installing such infrastructures of energy and power takes longer time compared with the rapidly changing external environment.
日本政府は持続可能な社会の実現を目指して、エネルギーや電力の安全な操業、安定供給や価格の安定化、2050年にカーボンニュートラルを達成することを見据えた次世代のエネルギー・電力はどうあるべきかを考え、再生可能エネルギーの増強、原子力の再導入、送電網の増強などの政策を議論しています。
私たち一人ひとリは、この議論を他人ごとにせず、私たちの子孫へ残す次世代の日本をどうするか。それを、自分ごととして捉え、自分の考えを持つことが求められています。
Aiming to realize sustainable society, the Japanese government is considering the desirable status of energy and power in order to achieve operational safety, economic efficiency, energy security and carbon neutral by 2050. The consideration includes issues such as reinforcing and increasing renewable energy capacity in Japan, placing nuclear generation as one of the main power mix factors again, and reinforcing power grids. We, as Japanese, need to take these issues as our own in order to make the world better and sustainable for the following generations.

これからエネルギーインフラは分散化、小型化していきます。大手電力会社からの電力供給に加え、需要家や消費者もエネルギー・エコシステムの重要な一員となり、再生可能エネルギーによる電力を事業所や地域、コミュニティ単位で地産地消するようになるでしょう。そして、発電と消費を最適化することで、持続可能な社会が可能になります。
In the near future, energy infrastructure will become more decentralized and smaller. In addition to the power supply from large electricity suppliers, power users and consumers will be important parts of power eco-systems. We all become Power PROSUMERS. And sustainable future will be realized by optimizing power production and consumption.
資源を持たない日本が、エネルギー安全保障を維持し、脱炭素を推進しながら持続可能な社会を実現するには、現行のエネルギーインフラシステムの大幅なアップデートが必要です。
海外に依存する燃料を使った大規模発電と送配電への依存を減らし、太陽光や風力等の分散型エネルギーを、地域と共に地域で活用する地産地消の仕組みが求められています。地域に根差す文化や産業を未来への種とし、よりよい未来を創るために、分散型である再生可能エネルギーの最適な活用方法を考えていくことが求められます。
For Japan, a nation with very little natural resources, drastic update of the current energy infrastructure system is needed to realize sustainable society. At the same time, it is required to improve the level of national energy security as well as to ensure decarbonization.
We need to upgrade the energy eco-system to reduce the dependency on large sized power generation system with fuels which we import and are dependent upon foreign countries, and to have the power eco-system which allows local production and local consumption. We need to consider and work to optimize decentralized energy system to make the future better and prosperous while embracing our local culture and industries in local communities.
